By-elections for three constituencies of the Berea district are scheduled for September. The Independent Electoral Commission IEC has decided to hold the by-elections simultaneously with Local Government Elections and voter registration process resumes this week.

According to IEC District Electoral Officer Mrs. ‘Mamonaheng Ramaema, preparations will also be made for a series of voter education workshops.

By-elections for Teyateyaneng, Thupa-Kubu and Berea constituencies follow deaths of political candidates, who were to contest the country’s general snap elections that were held on June third.
