Mafeteng ___ Disaster Management Authority DMA in collaboration with local contractors are currently engaged on site visit campaigns within different constituencies in the district.

In an interview with the Agency, The District Disaster Manager Mrs 'Matlotliso Sekhesa explained that the exercise will help DMA to study the damage that was done by strong winds which  blew roofing  of the majority of people in 2023.

She highlighted that  twenty one vulnerable households will benefit, explaining that those whose buildings were totally destroyed  are living with their relatives and neighbours.

Mrs. Sekhesa indicated that since the impact varies, the number of beneficiaries from each constituency will also be different and each  will be constructed a two-roomed house while other  houses will be reroofed.

Similar initiative is being carried out within different districts with the aim of providing the affected households with shelter.
