Mokhotlong June 24 -- Four members of Lebajoa family from Khonofaneng village within the Khubelu area, Mokhotlong will be buried on Saturday. The village Headman, Chieftainess &Matumeliso Lets;ela confirmed in an interview with the Agency on Monday this week.
Chieftainess Lets;ela said the deceased are alleged to have been shot dead at their home in Khonofaneng at around 7:00 PM on June 08 this year by unknown men. She said the first person who got shot was the wife of Mr. Hlalefang Lebajoa who is reported to be an active member of the Crime Prevention Committee at Khonofaneng, then followed his brother and the two other members of the family. She further said Mr. Lebajoa also sustained gun injuries as he was shot on the arms. He was therefore admitted at Mokhotlong hospital where he received medical treatment and released
after some few days. Chieftainess Lets;ela further alleged that there were seven people in the same house when the shooting happened of which three survived. The cause of death is still unclear, however, allegations continue to show that the shooting was in connection with stocktheft related issues Mr. Lebajoa was actively trying to fight against. Meanwhile the District Administrator for Mokhotlong Mr. Kepa Keqe expressed concern over the escalating cases of murder and stock theft taking place in the district. He urged all to fight crime and maintain peace in the district. The case is still under police investigations.
