The Minister of Water Affairs Honourable Samonyane Ntsekele has officially launched Ha Foso Drought Relief Water Supply Project at an event held at Ha Foso in Maseru.

Speaking at the event, the Minister said the current drought has brought about different challenges which the government has to address saying urbanisation which resulted in the increase of population has contributed to shortage of water.

He called for cooperation among the Marabeng and Ha-Foso communities and encouraged them to ensure safety of the project property, and discouraged vandalism and illegal connections in those areas.

The Member of Parliament for Berea Honourable Motlatsi Maqelepo said Ha Foso qualifies as an urban area and has been his priority due to lack of water, which has affected the community for many years.
