INMATES RECEIVE CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Prime Minister bestowed the Christmas gifts to the inmates at Juvenile Training Centre (JTC) on Monday. When opening the day Principal Rehabilitation officer Mr Lefelisa Setloboko gave a little history of Juvenile Training Centre (JTC) and said that the (JTC) is the only such centre in 10 districts of Lesotho. He further said that JTC accommodates under-aged prisoners from age 10 to 17.

In conclusion he said every kid that arrived in the Centre attended classes, as they have several classes that include Carpentry. Agriculture and tailoring among them.Prime Minister Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane every year he donates Christmas gifts to themost Vulnerable people, Orphaned children in the country hence in 2024 he presented food parcels to inmates.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, the Senior Private Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office Ms. Moleboheng Sefali said that the Prime minister this year decided to give the inmates the Christmas presents and he also wished them a Merry Christmas and happy New Year.  Meanwhile the Prime Minister handed over other food parcels and Pampers to Women Correctional Services.

On behalf of Women Correctional Services Senior Superintendent Mrs Mats’epo Ts’along said that they are very overwhelmed that this year the Prime Minister remembered them when giving the Christmas presents.

She further pleaded with Senior Private Secretary Mrs Moleboheng Sefali to inform the Prime Minister about the environment in which inmates live. She points out that they have inmates that have small kids and among them they have pregnant women. They do not have enough Uniform, shoes and transportation as they have to make interviews in the home of inmates before releasing them.
