The manager in the department of production of PrEP pill at Jhpiego Dr Sebaki Leluma, says the pill should be taken daily and also be taken 21 consecutive days before having unprotected sex for its effectiveness.
However he pointed out that the pill does not prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
PrEP is a pill that was launched by the Ministry of Health in June 2016, that is made to reduce and stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The director in the public relations sector Mrs Polo Motshoari, said the PrEP can be consumed daily by people who are HIV negative but are likely to be infected.
However Mrs Motshoari also stated that PrEP can be more effective if it is taken daily or under the instruction of the doctor, as it can reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS with 90% chances.
