LDF court orders Fonane be allowed to see a doctor.
31 July 2018 | 17:40

The Lesotho Defence Force Court has ordered a member of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) who is accused of the murder of the commander of the Lesotho Defence Force Captain Fonane to be given his right to see a doctor without any hesitation.

This came after Adv Letuka Molati told the court and put in a complaint on behalf of his client, that Fonane was ill and has run out of medication and also LDF knew about this matter.

Adv Molati further clarified that his Client ought to have seen his doctor last Friday, but he was denied that chance by the LDF members, saying he can only see his doctor in the presence of the military nurse.

He further said this is not a good action as Fonane also has a right to his privacy.

However the judge of the Lesotho High Court Matanzima Maqothi, emphasized that this matter is very minor, therefore it should have been solved a long time ago.

He therefore ordered that arrangements be made as soon as possible, and Captain Fonane should seek his medical treatment without any complications.

However on this case Captain Fonane is accused with  Major Pitso Ramoepane, together with Captain Litekano Nyakane by attacking and murdering the LDF commander on the 5th September 2017.
