Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) held a memorial service, for soldiers who died in line of duty since in 1990, until in 2018 in Maseru yesterday.
Speaking during the event the LDF commander Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela, said the Ha-Ratjomose barracks of the LDF has history in the culture and structure of the LDF, since during World War I and World War II.
He said the laid soldiers were killed at Ha-Ratjomose barracks, and they still remember that even today.
Letsoela stated that with this event, they remember soldiers who were killed and buried, while they were on duty under different circumstances.
In his remarks he explained that this event, follows the celebration of 15years Anniversary of LDF, as the national army of Lesotho
Speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Labour and Employment Honorable Keketso Rant’so, expressed her gratitude to the LDF Commander for remembering the laid soldiers, and holding a memorial service for them ahead of the commemoration of Army Day.
She encouraged this event to be held often, to remember soldiers who died in line of duty as they were committed to serving Lesotho.
