Maseru, June.26--The ongoing cases of reported murders that the country is currently faced with has placed Lesotho at number 3 in the global rankings of countries with high murder rates.

This was said by the Prime Minister in his official speech at the national television on Tuesday night.

In this speech, the Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane said that as a way of reviving the spirit of unity and peace prevailing in the country, there will be a prayer session held at Leshoboro stadium with which the aim is also a to celebrate the 200 years of Lesotho’s existence.

He said that all Basotho from different parts of the country are expected to join into this event and use it as a way of revival and reflecting back to the good ways that the Basotho nation is known for.

Mr. Matekane said that this prayer is also going to be used as a way of praying for peace and hope for a safer nation for all.

The Principal Chiefs are expected to lead this prayer session to be held on Friday in Mafeteng. The traditional leaders and senior citizens are also expected to grace this event with their presence.
