Lesotho senior soccer squad Likuena Head Coach Mr Leslie Notsi has expressed his satisfaction with his players performance after playing a one all draw against Namibia’s Brave Warriors in an international practice match played at Bidvest Wits Milpark Stadium on Saturday.

In a post-match interview Notsi told reports that the practice game against Namibia was a perfect practice match for his players ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe’s Warriors set for Orlando Stadium this coming Friday.

He said Zimbabwe is a physical and hard running team, adding that against Namibia, they faced similar opponents who played similar type of football.

Mr. Notsi said some of the attributes against Namibia will help his players to face Zimbabwe in a crucial encounter in Group C FIFA World qualifiers.

Equally satisfied was his Namibian counterpart Mr. Collin Benjamin who said, "First, a good test. A good test where we could have those young players get a good run against a good international team.

"The way Lesotho could come out of play from the back was really impressive to me. It's something that we must also work on because it's something that we want to get our opponents not to play as easy as that from the back.

"So, I think, going through the game, a good technical game from their side, we could hold one of two chances that we could have had in the first half, but we are going to learn from that.

"Like I said, it's a young team, it's a new team and a good opponent that was well organized and it’s for us to see how we unlock a good, organized team.

"In the end, with a 1-1 draw, I think it was a fair share of spoils." He concluded.

Namibia was the first to score in the second half but Likuena’s Motlomelo Mkhwanazi equalised from the spot kick to leave the score tied at 1-1 at full time.

This was the second international friendly game played by Likuena this year, after playing twice against Ethiopia earlier this year, winning the first one 2-1 and losing the second match by the same score line played away in Addis Ababa.

After playing Zimbabwe on Friday, Likuena will travel to Durban, where they will face Rwanda in another Group C FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Likuena has so far played two FIFA World Cup qualifiers in which they held Nigeria’s Super Eagles to a one all draw away and failed to beat Benin in a goalless draw played in Durban at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Rwanda is currently perched on top of Group C with 4 points, followed by South Africa with three points and Nigeria and Lesotho are galloping on third and fourth positions with two points each while Zimbabwe is placed on fifth also with two points and Benin is languishing at the bottom of the group with a point.
