In other news, the Minister of International Affairs, Hon. Lejone Mpotjoane, inaugurated the joint summit between Lesotho and South Africa yesterday in Maseru.
This summit is called the Bi-National Commission, BNC, and was led by sixteen ministers from Lesotho and sixteen ministers from South Africa. The summit will come to an end today, after heads of these two countries, the right honourable Prime Minister Sam Ntsokoane Matekane and honourable Cyril Ramaphosa join the summit.
Its purpose is to discuss the relations between these two countries in terms of trade, the immigration and other economic development issues.
In his opening remarks yesterday, Honourable Lejone Mpotjoane said that the slow implementation of some of the cooperation agreements between the two countries is preventing citizens from fully benefiting from the agreements, as well as slowing down economic growth between the two countries.
Mpotjoane also said that the two governments should look into the border crossing issues seriously. He said that the government of Lesotho is keen to see Basotho living comfortably in South Africa.
