Mafeteng___ The Mafeteng Magistrate Court has sentenced a 32-year-old Mohlouoa Moremi of Thabaneng Ha Sempe in Mafeteng to ten years imprisonment without option of fine for sexual offense.

According to the evidence led before court, the convict starting from 2023 till April 12, 2024 he intentionally, wrongfully and unlawfully decided to molest his siblings aged 18 years.

It stated that the convict together with his two little sisters were staying together after the death of their father and he started to sexually abuse the minor.

The evidence further indicates that the convict used to go to the other bed room and raped the victim.

It indicated that the convict decided to shift into the room where the victim was sleeping and raped her continuously until the victim fell pregnant and was recognised by his sister whom confronted the victim whom did not deny and told her she was four months pregnant.

It stated that the sister took the victim to elders who took the case to the area chief then to the police and it was taken to magistrate court where the convict was convicted.

In mitigation he pleaded guilty to the charge telling court that it was not his intention to sexually molest his little sister but he was influenced by stress he is going through, asking court to give him lenient punishment.

Delivering the judgment Magistrate Mathabo Kopung informed the convict that he was cruel as he was supposed to take care of silibling but he raped her.

She said the convict needs to be punished for what he did.

It was prosecuted by Crown Counsel Mathuto Ts'enoli.
