The ministry of home affairs will add 34 people to its staff to reinforce the present workforce and supplementary 10 service counters to cater for immigrants during this festive season.
This the ministry announced yesterday in a press conference where the minister honorable Tsukutlane Au appealed to Basotho to not exceed the span of days the South African immigration department grants them for staying in RSA, he said this in response to an evident tenacity of Basotho to trespass even after obtaining pardon to not pay a fine charged at the borders, for what he said seems to be a tendency of the people, to overstay across the border.
On the hand In a bid to improve services for travelers, the ministry says signage will be complete and there is a drive through with 4 service counters constructed with a pathway to separate pedestrians from motorists, a park home installed to service pedestrians and queue marshals will also be engaged, in addition, on RSA side, there will be 50 cadets and 6 supervisors.
The department has also prepared a clinic to cater for the sick along the border and a full time computer technician in case of a problem with the systems.
