The chairman of the board of Media Institute of Southern Africa(MISA) Lesotho  Mr Boitumelo Koloi, has been appointed at the higher level in the administration of MISA, where he has been ordained as the Deputy President of MISA in the SADC region.

This happened at the MISA Leaders Conference that was held in the capital Lusaka Zambia over the past weekend, that was aimed at discussing the future of MISA.

Mr Koloi is the Deputy of The President Ms Helen Mwale from Zambia.

In an interview with Harvest Fm Mr Koloi indicated that he is very pleased to be part of MISA leadership, not only in Lesotho but also in the SADC region, which he said is actually a sign that members of MISA have a strong believe in him, which is what gives him strength to work even harder in the uplifting of the media fraternity not only in Lesotho but also in SADC countries.

He also said this is happening at the right time, just when Lesotho is heading for the national constitutional reforms which as well include media.

He said he believes that this step will play a very big role in the national reforms, as well as in the protection of the rights of journalists and everything that goes in line with freedom of speech.

Mr Koloi expressed his gratitude to members of MISA Lesotho who trusted him to lead them, and also said he wishes they could also support MISA Lesotho.

He also appealed to all journalists who are not members of MISA to join, and perform their duties that include the annual general meeting that will be held in Berea end of next week.

This is not the first time Lesotho has the representative in the MISA leadership in the SADC region, as the spokesperson of the Prime Minister Mr Thabo Thaka Lekoala was once the chairperson of MISA in the SADC region a few years back.
