The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) has informed the football fraternity that the Likuena technical team has added Neo Mokhachane and Katleho Makateng into the team as replacements for Teboho Letsema and Lemohang Lints'a.

LeFA Media Officer, Mr. Mikia Kalati told the Agency on Sunday that Letsema and Lints’a have been withdrawn from the squad for the upcoming COSAFA Cup due to club and work commitments at Sekhukhune United and Limkokwing University respectively.

He said the national team will troop to camp today ahead of their departure to Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, June 26.

‘Likuena will kick-start their 2024 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup campaign against Seychelles on Friday, June 28th at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and the match will kick-off at 15h00’ he hinted.

Mr. Kalati further said the second match of Group C will be against Namibia on July 1st at Wolfson Stadium while the final game of the group phase will be against Angola on July 3rd at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Likuena Head Coach Mr. Leslie Notsi had made his intentions clear that he would like to challenge for the COSAFA Cup title this year again, after failing to win it last year where they narrowly lost to Zambia 1-0.

He told the media that he would retain the majority of the players who faced Zimbabwe’s Warriors as well as Rwanda’s The Wasps in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where he won the first one 2-0 and lost the second one 1-0 respectively.

In his squad he announced last week, Mr. Notsi only introduced two players in defender Thato Sefuli as well as striker Tlotliso Phatsisi into the team.

Mr. Notsi said he would like to slowly introduce the new faces into the team but avoid disrupting the core of the players.

Under the current Likuena mentor, the boys from the Mountain Kingdom lost 1-0 to Zambia in last year’s edition of the COSAFA Cup in the final played in Durban.
