The Lesotho Mounted Police Public Relations Officer Senior Superintendent Kabelo Halahala, has on Saturday confirmed that a dead woman aged 51 was exhumed at Motse-Mocha, in Mohale’s Hoek district.

Halahala stated that the deceased is reported to have disappeared on Thursday after quarrelling with a 43-year-old man, and the chief ordered villagers to search for her. He further indicated that police investigations led to the perpetrator, who then took villagers to a small pit at a dumping site in Motse-Mocha, and the deceased was found with wounds all over the body, and a huge one on her head which might have led to her death.

Reports show that the perpetrator killed the woman because he had previously raped her, and forced her to withdraw the case against him. The perpetrator is expected to appear in court on Monday as police investigations have been completed.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old Lehlohonolo Masoleng is awaiting trial in custody after showing police officers  places where he had hidden about 3 women whom he allegedly killed by smashing their heads with a stone.
