President Edgar Lungu is expected in Lesotho

President Edgar Lungu is on Thursday expected in Lesotho to attend the inauguration of newly elected Prime Minister Thomas Thabane.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba says the ceremony will be held on Friday June 16th in the capital Maseru.

Mr. Kalaba says Zambia values the existing warm bilateral relations with Lesotho which are based on a strong commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and the maintenance of peace and security at national and regional level.

He says Zambia will continue to champion democracy and the peaceful transfer of power throughout the region and the continent.

Meanwhile Mr.Kalaba says President Paul Kagame of Rwanda is expected in the country on Monday for a state visit.

He was speaking at a media briefing at his office in Lusaka.

And President Lungu says he will confer with Rwandan President Paul Kagame on various areas of cooperation during his forth coming state visit to Zambia.

President Lungu says Zambia attaches importance to the bilateral ties that exist between Zambia and Rwanda.
