In an effort to educate youth on Sebabatso Entrepreneurship Youth Programme, the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and Social Development in collaboration with Sebabatso, American Corner and United Nations Development Programme hosted a roadshow at Hlotse in Leribe on Monday.
Senior Entrepreneurship Officer Leribe Ms. Lieketseng Hleoheng said the purpose of the roadshow was to create awareness of Sebabatso Entrepreneurship Youth Programme and urge youth to apply. In addition, she explained that the applications are now accessible online and the closing is at the end of June, 2025. Hleoheng said Sebabatso is the best platform youth can use to expose their businesses.
Talking about the first cohort of Sebabatso in Leribe, she said about 99 youth applied and two of them were outstanding in Fashion and Design and Food Processing. Senior Entrepreneurship Officer said for the second cohort there were no winners but one will be flying to China to improve agricultural skills.
She indicated that for the third cohort, they are expecting that youth will come in high numbers and aim high with their businesses. In conclusion, Ms. Hleoheng said on Tuesday they will exhibit their products at Thakaneng Youth Resource center Hlotse.
Sebabatso Entrepreneurship Youth Programme is found in the Prime Minister's Office aimed at eliminating youth from unemployment through establishing and improving their businesses.
