A one week leadership training program for high ranking officials of the Lesotho Defence Force(LDF), was launched at Makoanyane barracks in Maseru yesterday.

When officially launching the training program, the Deputy Commander of Lesotho Defence Force Major General Matela Matobakele, said he hopes that the training will equip LDF officials with knowledge, so that they will be able to face challenges they will encounter in life.

He said a leader must always be vigilant, even though he cannot always have all the necessary equipment needed for him to perform his duties successfully.

He also said a leader must excel in his work, using only the available necessities.

Major General Matobakele further said when these circumstances arise, as they will do often throughout the course of their service, both in peace and in hard times, they will psychologically affect the trainees and their leadership style, and encouraged them to remain focused and strive to excel.

Sixteen high ranking LDF officials are participating in that training program.
