Ministry of Health takes the responsibility of referring patients to South Africa.

The Deputy Minister of Health Honorable ‘Manthabiseng Phohleli, says Ministry of Health will take the responsibility of referring patients to Mangaung in South Africa, from the 1st November 2018.

Honorable Phohleli said according to the agreement between the Government of Lesotho and T’sepong, there are some diseases which are the responsibility of the government, and they include donating body parts, bone diseases, heart diseases and cancer.

She further said to improve referral of patients throughout the country, Motebang Hospital will assist patients from the northern region of the country, while Mafeteng Hospital will assist patients from the southern region of the country.

Honorable Phohleli indicated that to improve health services in Lesotho, the government increased the rate at which equipment is bought, the number of workers, vehicles and also built another pharmacy on top of the already existing NDSO.

According to Honorable Phohleli, the pharmacy will operate even after December this year, when things get back to normal.
