DOTI IS WORRY OF THE INCREASING RATE OF CHILD MARRIAGE

The minister of social Development Honorable Matebatso Doti says the government upset to see that parents are driving their children into marriage at an early age.

Honorable Doti articulated this at a community Gathering SETALA Hamohale area in a manner to educate the nation about the disadvantages of early child marriage.

She even appealed to men as heads of the families to take care of their own livestock in order to give their baby boys a chance to go to school.

On that gathering the principal of Setala Primary school said as teachers they are worried because parents seem to enjoy their children getting married more than their children getting education stating that children marry at 11 years of age, and this act, make parents proud of their children getting married, she indicated that in the past years they were excited about the Lobola but nowadays it’s not the case because not even a single cattle is received as a form of lobola.

However this gathering is part of the campaigns of honorable Doti across the country in a purpose of raising awareness on child marriage and its disadvantages.
