The bishops of the Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL) met in Maseru to encourage the leader of their church Bishop Adam Mallane Taaso to retire.

Speaking in Maseru Bishop Maieane Khaketla of ACL, explained that they gathered together to annul many lies, that have been spread among ACL Christians and to the Basotho nation at large for the past ten years.

He said at the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of Bishop Taaso as the leader of Anglican Church of Lesotho, the elder son of Bishop Taaso announced that their father was supposed to retire in 2023, but as a family they agreed that he should retire this year.

He said the son further indicated that because of this family agreement, Bishop Taaso will retire on a date that will be announced later.

Bishop Khaketla expressed that it is not true that Bishop Taaso is supposed to retire in 2023, but he was supposed to have retired in June this year.

Bishops also express their discontent about Bishop Taaso, who awarded a trophy to one of the radio stations in Lesotho, saying they do not understand the standards on which he awarded that radio station a trophy.
