Minister of Education and Training Profesor Ntoi Rapapa announced the Junior Certificate results for the year 2018 in Maseru yesterday.

He said he is not impressed by the performance of 2018 class, especially in Maths and English subjects.

He congratulated all the students who managed to pass and encouraged those who didn’t make it to try again this year.

He said the performance of cohort is lower than that of 2017, as there has been a decrease in the percentages of the candidates obtaining First Class Second Class and Third Class passes and a slight increase in First Class with Merit passes.

A total of 22782 candidates had registered for the examination and only 22308 sat the examination while 474 did not write.

Due to the observed poor performance of candidates in Mathematics and English, the Ministry of Education and Training has made arrangements for candidates to re-sit for examinations in Maths and English in June 2019.
