The Spokesperson in the Prime Minister’s office Mr Thabo Thakalekoala, says Lesotho is one of the countries chosen to be donated grants by the United States for International Development, which supports developing countries in the world.

In his statement Mr Thakalekoala pointed out that the chairperson of that organization Mr Jonathan Niesh, wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Lesotho Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane on the 31st December 2018, notifying him that Lesotho is one of the countries that will benefit from the grants of the organization.

Mr Thakalekoala also indicated that Lesotho has been chosen to receive grants from the United States for International Development for the second time, in the second round of the grants of this organization to the developing countries.

He further said what is left now is for the concerned government ministries such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Development Planning, to meet with Maseru City Council to find out about the developments Lesotho may need to be helped with.

He further explained that after completing their plans, the concerned ministries will announce to Basotho the departments the grants will be referred to.
