A MAN WHO ESCAPED FROM DETENTION IN THE LDF IS ARRESTED BY THE POLICE.
A man who escaped from detention in the LDF is arrested by the police.

A thirty-two years old man Moeketsi Lehlabathe of Thoteng Mohale’s Hoek, who is a member of the Lesotho Defence Force(LDF) and was wanted by LDF, after escaping from detention in the LDF was arrested on Sunday the 13th January 2019.

The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) Spokesperson Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli, says the man was found at Maseru boarder gate at around 9:00pm, trying to run away into South Africa.

He further said the man is also suspected of the other two criminal offences of car theft.

In his report Mopeli explained that the man pretended to be a passenger in a 4+1, in which he ended up pointing a driver with a gun and ran away with the car.

Superintendent Mopeli also said one of these Honda Fit 4+1’s was found sold and involved in criminal activities, and it is currently at the Lithoteng Police Station.

He said the other 4+1 was found on the 9th January 2019, with its parts disassembled in Ha-Seoli where the man stays.
