The Minister of Science and Technology Honourable Thesele ‘Maseribane has been appointed as the chairperson of the new cabinet sub-committee that has been formed to work with the Ministry of Education and Training to resolve teachers’ grievances.

In his remarks in Maseru yesterday, Honourable ‘Maseribane said the government of the Kingdom of Lesotho is worried about the ongoing clashes between the Ministry of Education and Training and teachers’ unions of Lesotho Association of Teachers (LAT), Lesotho Teachers Trade Union (LTTU) and the Lesotho Schools Principal Association (LESPA).

He said as the government, they stand united with all the teachers who are willing to continue with their work of teaching students, and said the government will continue to provide them with necessary security where needed.

He further said all teachers complaints are being looked into, as they have been going on for far too long.

Honorable ‘Maseribane explained that the current government got into power when the teachers were already complaining.
