The department of the prevention of animals and car theft of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) has arrested three men on the 20th February 2019 for allegedly stealing a car.

They are a thirty-one years old man of Rothe who stays in Ha-Seoli, a thirty-one years old man of Maseru West who stays in Semphetenyane, and a thirty-six years old man from ‘Mahuu who stays in Ha-Pita.

The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) spokesperson Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said the Toyota Corolla type vehicle was stolen from its owner, who is a thirty-six years old man from Ha-Lehlabela on the night of the 17th February 2019 around 11pm.

In his statement, Mopeli said the men also broke into the house of their victim by breaking the window and demanded money from him, where he gave them M800 which they said it was not enough.

He said the men stabbed the victim with a knife, put him in the back of the car, and thrown him in the wild where he was found by another taxi driver who took him to the hospital for treatment.

The men will appear in court again when police investigations are completed.
