Ministry of Health held a one week workshop for male health professionals working in male clinics, on the issues of abuse and ways of preventing it.

The manager in the department of good health for young people Mrs ‘Mathato Nkuoatsana, said Ministry of Health found it necessary to train male health professionals like all other health professionals, so that they teach members of the public about issues relating to abuse.

She said the workshop will equip health professionals with skills which will enable them to serve victims of abuse in clinics and in hospitals, how to report abuse and how to work with other government ministries in solving abuse related issues.

Mrs Nkuoatsana also said as abuse affects mostly young people, the workshop will focus more on training health professionals on good health for young people.
