The Deputy Minister of Health Honorable ‘Manthabiseng Phohleli, says Basotho who are HIV positive and are working in South Africa will no longer be given a one month medical treatment, but their treatment will be extended to between three to six months.

She expressed this when summarizing the 2019/2020 Budget Speech presented by the Minister of Finance Dr Moeketsi Majo in the Parliament of Lesotho, who indicated that Basotho who are working in South Africa will be saved time and monthly travel expenses from South Africa to Lesotho for their medical check-ups.

Honorable Phohleli also explained that the purpose of this plan is to ensure that time and travel expenses of those patients are saved, so that they focus on their jobs than focusing on travelling from South Africa to Lesotho every month.

She also noted that the Ministry of Health will ensure that patients respect their medical treatment so that they live healthy lives.
