Ministry of Public Works and Transport launched the Easter Road Safety campaign in Maseru yesterday.

Speaking at the event the Deputy Minister Honorable Mokherane T’sasanyane, said road accidents are caused by impatient people and people who are not cooperative with other road users.

He said during this time of the year Christians, families and tourists travel at a high rate, and he encouraged drivers to be patient so that everybody will arrive safe in their respective destinations.

The manager in the Department of Road Safety Mrs ‘Mathato T’sosane, cautioned students in the Maseru region that they should be alert when they cross roads, and to take care of themselves when they are using public roads.

Ministry of Public Works and Transport holds this campaign annually, to make people aware of road accidents and to teach them how to prevent them.
