UNFPA REPORTS ON THE RESULTS OF THE STUDY OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN LESOTHO.
UNFPA reports on the results of the study of Gender Based Violence and Human Trafficking in Lesotho.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) together with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), held a workshop to report on the findings of the study of provision of life-saving protection, gender based violence services, and psychological support to drought affected population.

Speaking in Maseru on Thursday 20th June 2019, the officer in the Department of Gender Based Violence and Human Rights Program of UNFPA Mrs Mat’seliso Khesi, said the study was conducted in March 2019 under the agreement of the Government of Lesotho and the UN agencies.

She said UNFPA in partnership with International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNICEF, conducted the study on people who assist victims of gender based violence, and human trafficking in the villages of Lesotho.

Khesi indicated that the study was focusing on issues including strengths, weaknesses and the challenges faced by those people in their everyday work.


She said the aim of their workshop yesterday, was to disseminate the report to their stakeholders and media.
