A thirty-four years old man of Ngoajane in the Butha-Buthe district attacked a nine years old boy of the same village, in suspicion that the boy and the other eleven years old boy grazed their animals in a field of his brother.

The Acting Lesotho Mounted Police (LMPS) Spokeperson Senior Inspector Rantoane Motsoetla, said the man took out a knife and stabbed the boy several times and cut off his private parts.

He said the man hid the body of the boy with stones and wood, and he was caught by residents who assaulted him and called the police.

In a statement he further said the man showed the police where he hid the body, and police rushed him to the hospital where he later died.

Motsoetla called on people to stop taking law in their own hands when crime has been committed, and encouraged them to report crime, so that police will carry out investigations and put the suspects in the courts of law.
