The Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) that works with the Lesotho Defence Force and Lesotho Flying Doctors Services handed over a patients lodging house to Ministry of Health in Maseru on Wednesday 24 July 2019.

With this, MAF responded to the temporary food and shelter needs of patients, transferred from clinics in the hard-to-reach areas of Lesotho to referral hospitals in Maseru.

The MAF Managing Director Mr Matthew Monson said he is pleased to hand over the house to Ministry of Health and the Government of Lesotho, as it will fulfill the long overdue cry of people.

He said they saw the climate and weather conditions in Lesotho, and heard the cry of patients for the need of temporary shelter and food, and they decided to give them a long-term assistance.

Minister of Health Honorable Nkaku Kabi thanked MAF for a gift of patients lodging house and its support to his ministry.

He encouraged LFDS for helping patients in the highlands, to access health services in the lowlands of Lesotho.

He said his ministry will work together with Ministry of Public Works and Transport to construct roads and grounds on which their helicopters will land.
