The Socialist Revolutionaries (SR) expressed their concerns, about the alarming cases of violation of human rights in Lesotho.

On Tuesday this week, a member of the party Mr Nkhesi Monyalosi said, it has come to their attention as leaders of SR that some members of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS), are continuing to torture and harm suspects of crime.

He said among these cases there is one suspect, who was reported to have been assaulted by the police, and now he has lost his mind.

Monyalosi indicated that in the past months, they wrote letters to international organizations including Embassy of the US to Lesotho, informing them about these police brutality cases, and he called onto the Government of Lesotho to stop the police from abusing people.

He further said they strongly stand against the attack of the Member of Parliament from Lithabaneng Constituency, Honorable ‘Matebatso Doti by criminals who stabbed her with a sharp weapon and left her wounded in her house.
