Ministry of Development Planning launched the communications plan for the Lesotho Jobs and Investment Summit, which will be held in Maseru on the 21st August 2019.

Speaking in Maseru yesterday, the Minister of Development Planning Honorable Tlohelang Aumane, said during the summit the government of Lesotho will showcase the outcomes of the Lesotho Economic Labs, and launch a roadmap publication for the implementation of projects that were identified during the Lesotho Economic Labs.

He said the purpose of the Lesotho Jobs and Investment Summit is to inform the nation about private investment projects, that will be supported to facilitate job creation.

In his remarks he further stated that the roadmap detailing the actions and commitments made by the government and the investors, as well as the new institutional arrangements that will facilitate private investment and job creation, to achieve planned results will also be presented.

He also said the Government of Lesotho promised to create jobs in Lesotho, through National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) II, whose main goal is to have inclusive employment creation and private sector driven economy.

He said after the implementation of NSDP II, they started Lesotho Economic Labs with private sector, and now they are planning the Lesotho Jobs and Investment Summit.

Jobs will be created in sectors including agriculture, manufacturing and tourism and creative industries.
