Members of the national team, who represented Lesotho in the 2019 Morocco Africa Games in August this year reported on their performance in Maseru on Tuesday 03/09/2019.

Speaking on behalf of the team, the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) Chairperson Mr Tlali Rampooana said their journey has not come to an end, but they are taking a break until after 2020 Africa Games.

He said in the 2015 Africa Games, they won bronze medal and this year they won silver medal.

In his remarks he said Lesotho athletes were fully participating in the games, and he encouraged them not to be discouraged, by the fact that they did not win many medals like other countries.

The Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation Dr Mahali Phamotse, said they performed well in the games, although they did not appear in the first position like Basotho would expect.

She said she is happy with their performance this year which is better than last year, even though they did not achieve their plan to appear at least in the top five of best performing African countries.

She also said in the coming 2020 Africa Games which will be hosted by Lesotho, they will hold latent search campaign for the youth of Lesotho.
