The Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) will hold tax expo from Wednesday the 9th to Thursday 10th October 2019, at ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru.

The LRA Public Relations Officer Mr Pheelo Mphana said at the expo, they will focus on the national reforms and taxation, and gather the views of the government and the public about taxation during this time of the ongoing national reforms in Lesotho.

Mphana also said during the expo, they will discuss different ways in which Lesotho can derive greatest benefit from the mining sector, focusing more on taxation.

He further said they will also review the role of taxation in attracting foreign direct investment, and the role of taxation in promoting entrepreneurship in Lesotho.

In his remarks he also stated that at the expo, they will deliberate on the different ways of building a culture of voluntary compliance in Lesotho, not only for tax laws but also for all the laws in the country.

Mr Mphana explained that after a two days tax expo, they will formulate a report with recommendations that will be handed to Ministry of Finance, as part of the LRA advice to the ministry in relation to taxation.
