YME Music Company launched the online music selling shop called YMETunes in Maseru yesterday.

The YME Music Company Managing Director Mr Sechaba Mokoqo, said YMETunes is the first online music selling shop in Lesotho, and is one of few online music shops in the world that use a collaboration of mobile money platforms as payment gateway.

Mokoqo known in music industry as Sr. Sechaba, said they partnered with Econet Telecom Lesotho for this operation, and they went on live for the first time yesterday, on Econet mobile portal through the URL m.ymetunes.com.

He explained that YMETunes is an online music selling shop, that caters mainly for Basotho music, because for the longest time of around thirty years that the copyrights law existed in Lesotho, Basotho artists have not been collecting royalties from different media platforms, where their music is played.
