The Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA), will hold annual conference in Maseru starting from the 23rd to the 25th October 2019.

In a statement LIA said in an endeavour to participate in issues of national interest, that affect good governance and accountability, it arranges annual conferences which bring together accountants and key stakeholders, from both the public and private sector, to share ideas of mutual interest.

According to the statement, the annual conference has been a tradition since 2009, and in 2018 the conference was honored by the presence of Finance Minister from South Africa Tito Mboweni, as key note speaker under the theme; “Reimagining Business in Africa; A Journey Towards Economic Resilience”.

This year the focus is on public sector accountability and performance, and the conference shall be graced by the presence of PLO Lumumba as key note speaker, under the theme; “Accelerating Public Sector Performance in Developing Countries”.

According to the statement the speakers will share ideas and experiences on a number of topics, including how strong institutions can help improve public sector performance, and the use of integrated thinking as a tool to manage resources for the benefit of Lesotho.
