Ministry of Labour and Employment through the support of Kao Diamonds Mine, officially opened Ntlafatso Skills Training Centre (NSTC); a vocational school in Mohale’s Hoek yesterday.

The school director Mr. Chaka Lekhoro, said the school was earlier closed due to financial hardships, and they worked hard to ensure it was re-opened.

He said they met with Kao Diamonds Mine to seek assistance, and now they are expecting students to continue and finish their studies.

The mine’s managing director Mr. Mohale Ralikariki, said they have twenty-four students from villages around the mine, and they train them so that when the mine leaves the area, they are equipped with skills as the mine has taken most of their land.

The Minister of Labour and Employment Honorable Keketso Rant’so, said the government is employing a small number of people from the population, and so they train students so that they employ other people.

NSTC was established in 1999 and was closed in 2018 due to financial problems, and was later opened on the 6th February 2020.
