The Lesotho Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says the Government of Lesotho and members of the Parliament of Lesotho do not respond to the needs of Basotho.

In a press conference held in Maseru on Monday the 18th May 2020, EFF stated that the Government of Lesotho is no responding to the effects of COVID-19 in Lesotho, particularly its impact on vulnerable people including factory workers, taxi drivers and Basotho who are working in South Africa.

Members of the party stated that they are aware that quarantine is meant for poor people, and not for political leaders in Lesotho.

They said they saw Jeff Radebe, leader of special envoy to Lesotho of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, coming into Lesotho and not subjected to fourteen days quarantine like everyone.

In their statement, they also complained that the Deputy Prime Minister Monyane Moleleki visited Pretoria in South Africa, and when he returned he was never quarantined.
