The Lesotho Network of AIDS Services Organizations (LENASO) donated sanitary towels to one hundred girls, aged between fifteen and twenty-four at Siloe in the Taung Constituency in Mohale’s Hoek on Friday.

LENASO Executive Director Mrs. Mamello Makoae said they requested village support groups to give them a list of ten needy girls in Taung, but realized later when they arrived in the area that there are more needy girls than they expected.

Mamello said they donated three hundred sanitary towels to the girls, which they will use for the next three months.

In her statement she explained that the towels were bought with the money contributed by LENASO employees, realizing that for a girl child to grow well she has to go through menstrual periods.

Member of Parliament for Taung Constituency Honorable Selemo Mangobe accepted the towels on behalf of the girls, and expressed his gratitude to LENASO for the donation.

He complemented LENASO for assisting the girls during this time of COVID-19 pandemic, in which they need emotional and psychological support; as they are currently not going to their respective schools.
