The Leader of Alliance of Democrats (AD) refutes allegations that he is to be appointed as the Lesotho’s High Commissioner to India as it has been doing rounds on the social and mainstream media.

This, the Leader of Alliance of Democrats (AD) Dr. Monyane Moleleki when addressing media personnel at the press briefing held in Maseru on Wednesday the 29th of March 2023. Dr. Moleleki highlighted that the proper procedure has not been followed before announcement of this fake appointment, adding that there is no agreement between the two countries yet.
He revealed that this is a smear campaign against him, so as to cause confusion among members of AD as the party is heading for the elective conference this weekend.

Dr. Moleleki further indicated that this confusion is caused by those who want to divide AD members and therefore take-over the party without any hindrance. Meanwhile, over the past weekend Dr. Moleleki confirmed that he will be Lesotho’s High Commissioner to India. Asked what will happen to the party if members re-elect him at the upcoming elective conference, he said if he does go to India, he will write a letter to all constituencies and resign. “I notified party members since 2017 to prepare themselves as I can resign any time” he said. However, he said it will not be a relief if party members do
not re-elect him during the conference instead it will be a disgrace.

Meanwhile a document trending on social media indicates that among other people who are appointed as new Ambassadors include Mr. Matete ‘Nena who will be Lesotho’s Ambassador to New York, Nts’iuoa Sekete Addis Ababa and Ntsime Jafeta, Pretoria.
