The Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports, Arts, Culture and Social Development through the Department of Social Development
in collaboration with Khoro High School will launch a Boychild Campaign at the occasion to be held at the school premises this coming Friday.

In an interview with the Ministry Senior Child Welfare Officer Ms. Matsepo Mokenela said the activity forms part of initiatives by the ministry to teach boys the importance of supporting young girls during their menstrual period which comes once a month while at the same time is to instill love , care and support of girls in any situation.

She highlighted that it came to their realization that boys are not aware that menstrual hygiene is natural to females and sometimes they could embarrass girls on menstrual days through laughing them thus making them to feel small and preferred not coming to school until The process is complete, saying the school management approached the ministry on what should be done to teach boys on the importance of supporting girls during that time hence the initiative.
