The Deputy Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Forestry Mr.Hlalele Hlalele has on Wednesday suggested that celebration for World Bee day, run for a week. Mr. Hlalele indicated this at a celebration held in Holy Cross at Mekaling, noting that this will give Bee farmers enough time to showcase their products to well-known shops in the country. He further pleaded with farmers to send their products to be tested at the Research department in the Ministry of Agriculture Food Security and Nutrition and urged relevant Ministries to join hands in accessing market for farmers.

Furthermore, Kelebone Matjobeng Beekeeping Farm founder who emphasized the importance of rearing Bees, indicated that he established the farm in 2007 and World Vision Lesotho assisted him with storage boxes, and now he is working with about 6 people. World Bee day is celebrated on May 20, with the purpose of creating awareness on the significance of bees and other pollinators for Livelihood enhancement and environmental amelioration.
