Petroleum Fund has made the public aware of prices of petroleum products that are expected to increase as effective from Wednesday. The Petroleum Fund CHIEF Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Thato Mohasoa through a press release dated June 06 showed that the pump price for petrol 93 will be decreased by 40 cents, petrol 95 by 40 cents while the pump price for diesel willbe decreased by 35 cents. In this release Mr Mohoasoa added that the prices of illuminating paraffin are
also expected to be decreased by 50 cents per litre.

Based on these adjustments, the Petroleum Fund appealed to retailers to charge proper prices as it is illegal to charge prices that are different from the gazetted ones. Upon these adjustments, the retail prices for all the districts of Lesotho from the cost of fuel are expected to be charged at M20.10 per litre of Petrol 93, M20.55 per litre for Petrol 95, M19.85 for Diesel50 while illuminating paraffin is expected to be charged M14.80 per litre.

Petroleum Fund (The Fund) was established with the mandate to finance petroleum related projects, to address the objectives of its enabling legislation which addresses, among others, the purchase of petroleum products in times of need and the improvement of the distribution of petroleum products throughout the country. The foremost priorities of the Fund will, in the short to medium terms, be on its mandate of ensuring the security of supply of petroleum products.
