Chairperson of Maseru Region Transport Operators Mr. Jonase Mokete says their organization is still waiting for a response from the Road Transport Board regarding transport fares.

Mr. Mokete said they had a meeting with the Transport Board a few weeks ago and the board explained that they are still working on the matter and they will give them feedback when the decision is finalized.

He further indicated that MRTO earlier made a request through a letter written to the Minister of Public Works, and Transport, honorable Matjato Moteane requesting him to inform the Road Transport Board that they want transport fares to be increased.

He clarified that only the Ministry through the board reviews fares not transport operators, denying the allegations that says transport fares will increase from the first of July and that taxis will cost M18.00 local.
