The Mafeteng Magistrate Court has sentenced a 40-year-old Thabiso Mokobi of Ha Makopela to ten years imprisonment without option of fine for sexually abusing his grandmother. According to the evidence read before court the convict on December 02, 2022, intentionally, wrongfully and unlawfully decided to sexually molest his grandmother (65) of the same village (Ha Makopela). It showed that on the mentioned date convict who is reported to have been staying with the complainant found his grandmother just has finished bathing and warped herself with a fleece without clothed ready looking for clothes and he asked her about the table knife claiming to cut the aloe outside of which the grandmother looked for it and while she was trying to give it to the convict he touched the complainant roughly trying to take the knife by force but failed. It stated that both the complainant and the convict fought over the knife which end up leaving a scar on the chick of the complainant until she lost power and fell down where the convict managed to unwrap the complainant raped her.

In mitigation he pleaded guilty as charged telling court that he really cannot explain what was happening with him by that time, asking for lenient punishments and promised not to commit the same crime. Delivering the judgement Magistrate Bokang Makhaketso informed the convict that he has been cruel to his grandmother who raised him while he had to ensure protection of the victim he turned to be the enemy, saying he needs a harsh sentence that will
teach him a lesson forever in his life.

He notified the convict that he has made the wrong decision ever of raping the mother of his father who was relaxed knowing that she is with his child not a stranger hence her relaxation, saying the convict has committed the undescribed sin in front of God even the people in the
