Over M1 million was collected towards the King's trust fund in an auction held at the royal palace in Maseru on Friday night.

Principal Chief of Matsieng Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso showed that this auction was aimed at giving international countries a feel of the culture of the Basotho nation through art .He indicated that a portion of the sales made out of the auctions will be donated towards the King's trust fund.

However, one of the artists with the highest sold sculpture Mr. Hlasoa Lenoesa, said art has been part of his life from the earliest age of high school. He also stated that his work has been inspired by international and local artists which he said he hopes his artwork could inspire someone also.

Mr. Lenoesoa further said that with the rate of unemployment that the country is faced with, he wishes that parents could encourage their children even from the earliest ages to go into art and innovation as they can be income generators.
