OVER 290 POLICE RECRUITS PROMOTED

The  Police Commissioners and delegates from other security agencies, the public and development partners witnessed the pass out No.1 of 2022/2023 Police recruits squad in an event held at the Police Training College in Maseru on Friday.

Speaking at this event, the Prime Minister Mr. Samuel Matekane indicated that he is glad to have witnessed the pass out which for the first time have made history in taking 13 months of training as opposed to the known six months of training.

He also applauded the dedication and perseverance that the police recruits are reported to have shown during their training despite the challenges they met.

On the other hand the Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Mr. Lebona Lephema said that he has hope the recruits will go and serve as expected as their pass out was also witnessed by their family members.

He therefore urged them to go and serve as expected by the government of Lesotho and as per the regulations and expectations of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police COMPOL Holomo Molibeli revealed that the training college is ready to let go of the recruits as the time served during their training has been satisfactory.

COMPOL Molibeli revealed that as a way of enhancing police services within the country, the nation shall witness the send-off of some police officers who will attend police training courses in countries such as Rwanda. He also mentioned that upon their deployment, the districts of Mokhotlong, Thaba-Tseka and Quthing will be given support of 50 Police officers each with the purpose of aiding police services in such districts.
